3G vs WiFi Wireless Internet Access Seminar report
WiFi Technology
WiFi is a way to get Internet access, the term WiFi is a play upon the decades old term HiFi that describes the type of output generated by quality musical hardware, Wi Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity and is used to define any of the wireless technology in the IEEE 802.11 specification including wireless protocols 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g.
WiFi is a Duplex Communication (two way radio communication)
The WiFi Alliance is the body responsible for promoting the term and its association with various wireless technology standards.
3G Technology
3G (third generation technology) cellular technology is defined as the provision of wireless broadband data and information services right to a person's mobile unit. Compared to the previous technologies, 3G promises speeds ranging from 144 Kbps to 2.4 Mbps. 3G is also known as IMT-2000. 3G technologies make use of TDMA and CDMA. There are many 3G technologies as W-CDMA, GSM EDGE, UMTS, DECT, WiMax and CDMA 2000
