IIT Delhi will enroll 850 B-Tech students this year

IIT Delhi will enroll 850 B-Tech students for the year 2010-11. Visit the official web site of IIT Delhi

This comes a an intake increment of 27 per cent to accommodate OBC students. The central government has ordered implementation of OBC quota in all the government- aided higher educational institutes across India. IITs will do this over three years. Currently, India has 15 IITs, which includes the 8 new IITs, which began their operations in the past couple of years.

About 472,000 students had appeared for the IIT-JEE on April 11. About 15,500 undergraduate and 12,000 graduate students study in the IITs, in addition to research scholars.
