Paper and pencil for Schematic
If you do not have internet connection or a laptop with you, definitely the the efficient way is to use a pencil and gridded engineering paper. You may copy this to your mobile camera and copy to your computer for sharing with your batch mates then :)

Wow Circuit Lab looks awesome. I do prefer working on local files instead of ones that are on "the cloud". I use Eagle PCB design software to create all my circuit schematics. The cool thing about Eagle is that I can also create the PCB layout with it.

Eagle is an excellent software, I too use it some time. As I said, preferring Circuit Lab because it is easy to use within a browser, Linux/Windows or even from your mobile browser!
