Steganography. The art of hiding Information, seminar report, abstract

Steganography, an introduction
Steganography is an art of hiding information has been in much demand since the beginning of communication. The lack of research on this has however, not allowed people to make use of it. The concepts of steganography and Cryptography is similar not same and most people have the habit of confusing it. While Cryptography is hiding the content of the message, steganography hides the total existence of the message. The term steganography is a Green term which means hidden or unseen. Those data which are encrypted attract the attention of the hackers though their existence but with the steganigraphy which ceases the existence of the message they will be not be any attempt made to break into it or hack it through whatsoever keys used.

This method of locking the existence of information is done by making use of audio and image files to hide the encrypted data. An efficient steganography system makes use of the Kerckhoff Principles which is based on the use of the secret key rather than those ways of operation unknown to the hackers. Concealing the existence of the data with the steganography the art of hiding information is the best way to keep away intruders as they are not aware of its existence. The system needs to be a robust one preventing hackers to be unaware of the existence of the information.
