Project NOVA from Google, the mobile phone backbone network technology from Google

In Mobile world congress, recently conducted in Barcelona, Google's Sundar Pichai announced another innovative project announcement called Project Nova. A telecom/mobile back end infrastructure project will be lunched soon by Google. The project aims at improving telecom back end technologies, not to be a competitor to existing telecom companies. This will a virtual mobile network, allows mobile phone users to experience better quality internet and voice calls and providing the freedom of switching WiFi and data connection seamlessly.
Initial launch of this project is planned for United States, ensuring higher performance at lower rates. Interestingly, the announcement comes just after Facebook announces, the internet.org project.
