Palm vein technology (Finger Vein) seminar report, abstract

Palm vein technology (Finger Vein), an introduction
Finger Vein (Palm Vein) Technology acknowledges each and every individuals different physical and behavioral characters. Through this technology security in hospitals, military facilities and other applications is maintained effectively and efficiently such as opening the doors of cars and much more. This technology entails only a single chip design which means that the units are comparatively small and available at less cost since it is a notable and promising technology.

Palm Vein (Finger Print) Technology in an ATM

The structure of this technology can be verified, detected and captured with the use of light transmission technique. In this technology contact is not necessary as it takes even less than two seconds for vein recognition biometric device to substantiate the user. This technology has proficiency to wrath with existing biometric technologies. It is used along with hand geometric technology with the use of fingerprints which helps to lower down susceptibility for fraud and uplifts security. One interesting feature of this technology which has recently tested in one of the banks in Poland is that the ATM generates cash through finger vein scan.

Let us understand how this feature works. Its not at all possible to duplicate the finger veins which is possible when used fingerprints because it leaves a trace which can be replicated easily. Thus, Finger Vein Technology is very useful and innovative way to avoid frauds and malfunctioning.

Abstract, Palm vein technology
The fast evolving world of technology, is causing considerable challenges when it comes to security. A couple of years ago, passwords with just your name or numbers were considered secure enough. Then came the age of combination passwords. Some sites do not accept passwords which include your personal details. Researchers across the world , then turned to an extremely secure method i.e Biometrics. There are two types of Biometric systems used- Finger-print technology and Palm Vein Technology. Our focus today is on the Palm Vein Technology. The palm vein technology was developed by the Fujitsu corporation. This technology uses the nerves and veins on an individuals palm to confirm the identity of the individual.

The scanners developed to use Palm vein authentication, focus on the blood flowing through the nerves and veins on the palm or the back of the hand. If we look at the fingerprint scanners, fingerprints may not be captured correctly due to dirt accumulation or skin peeling off on the fingers. In contrast, palm vein technology is completely foolproof. Since the system captures the entire palm print of the individual by focusing on the veins, accumulation of dirt, skin peeling off or cuts and bruises on the palm will have no impact on the authentication of the user.
