Broadband internet connection refers to any of the high speed Internet connections which might be in place, including both wireless and wired Internet connections. This refers to high-speed data transmission in which a single cable can carry a large amount of data at once.
According to Wikipedia, the term
broadband refers to the wide bandwidth characteristics of a transmission medium and its ability to transport multiple signals and traffic types simultaneously. The medium can be coax, optical fiber, twisted pair, DSL local telephone networks or wireless. In contrast, base band describes a communication system in which information is transported across a single channel.
Let us come to the reality of broadband in India. Metro cities in India, you can find the real broadband internet connection, most cable internet providers could keep their promises. Present scenarios in Indian villages, internet is as slow as less than 10kbps speed some times (from my travel experience).
