Threat exchange Platform By Facebook
Facebook has seen many security threats from hackers and advertisers who are trying to spam the website. To combat such problems in the future, it has come up with a novel approach. It has developed a platform through which researchers and others can share information regarding security threats. Since a malware affects many websites through sharing and duplicating, websites can face the same problem at the same time. This new platform can give alerts to other websites before things go out of hand. This platform is known by the name of ThreatExchange. ThreatExchange was launched by Mark Hammell, manager of threat infrastructure at Facebook.
This security collaboration service is still in its Beta stage. With this platform, website owners can alert each other about a latest malware of other harmful software that can cause trouble with the website. The number of cyber attacks is growing every year. Hence, the need for such a platform was very evident. Facebook took the first step and came up with this idea. According to Mark Hamell, Facebook has been toying with this idea since last year. With this platform, the cyber attacks can finally be prevented. Many big names have been roped in to use this platform. These include Yahoo, Twitter and so on.
