Dynamic Domain Name Service Seminar Report, Abstract

An introduction to Dynamic Domain Name Service

Domain Name Service (DNS) is the service of maintaining and changing names of websites and computer names in internet to their corresponding IP addresses. This service is given by Domain Name Servers (DNS). These servers maintain a record of many machines and their IP addresses. This is a very important part of internet functioning. However, with so many new devices joining the internet every day, it becomes difficult to maintain an updated record of these machines. To cater to this need, Dynamic Domain Name Service is introduced. This is a new and improved method to upgrade the database of domain names and IP addresses.

In this method, the database of record is updated dynamically. That means, new entries are made part of the database in real time. This helps in updating the database quickly. Dynamic domain name service is a good option for devices which change their IP address frequently. These are mainly handheld devices like mobiles and tablets. These devices are used by most people today and are replacing traditional computers. Hence this method of updating the DNS servers is the need of the hour. There are many new websites coming up every day. This method can be used to give access of these new websites to users in no time.
